Ask any bride what they dreamt of most as a young girl and you will likely hear it was an amazing princess wedding gown, so let us start with the frock trends of 2009!

Men's Wear: LaDonna from Mr. Formal in Tigard says "Tropical colors are in for 2009" Did you know that Mr. Formal also have suits for rent? They even have special rates for destination weddings! Good to know LaDonna, Thank you!

Ceremonies: Heritage theme weddings such as Chinese, Scottish or Italian. Of course, Glamour is always "in" Check out the Crown Ballroom & Garden Court a hidden gem in downtown Portland and all-inclusive wedding venue with fabulous catering by Connor Catering.

Catering: Mini-Everything: cocktails, appetizers, truffles, even mini-hamburgers for a casual outdoor wedding.

Cakes: Get Squared, as in square cupcakes and hexagonal shaped cakes! Black and white cakes are still in, as well as pink and blue hues. My personal favorite JaCiva's short for Jack and Iva's they have served local brides for over 30 years and created a three tier square cake for my wedding!

Tour Oregon Wine Country Do's & Don'ts

Ahhhh.......a beautiful day in Oregon wine country! Relax and enjoy, don't stress out and feel rushed! Want to know how? check out these Do's & Don'ts for making the most of your Oregon Wine Tour experience.

DO plan ahead. It only take a few phone calls to ensure a great day! Call the wineries you are planning to visit to ensue they can accommodate your group, especially if you have more than 6 guests. Many wineries do not take large groups on weekends, so be sure to call first.

DO be prepared for special events on Thanksgiving weekend, many appointment only wineries open to the public and expect longer waits throughout the day. You may want to jump in and enjoy OR avoid the crowds....it's your choice!

DO map your route. Use the Willamette Valley Wineries Association Map, it is fantastic! Another option; choose a tour operator like VIP PDX, we will do all the planning and routing for you, even the reservations at the wineries are included with our service.

DON'T drive thru wine country deciding 'on the spot' which wineries you would like to visit. Dundee is a small town and you don't want to be the cause of traffic for miles and miles...road rage is not the way to enjoy your day.

DO designate a driver for the day or better yet, hire VIP PDX to guide you thru the Willamette Valley, this way everyone can relax and enjoy the entire day to the fullest.

DON'T drink and drive, this may sound strange when you are wine 'tasting' but you would be surprised the effect 3-7 tastes at 3 wineries will have on your body. Play it safe and leave the driving to a professional driver. It is no fun to watch as everyone in your party saviors Oregon wine while you sip water!

DO ask wineries about reserve and vintage wines, the wineries are more than happy to expand on their wines variations.

DON'T expect a full glass of wine when 'tasting'. If you truly enjoy a wine purchase a bottle to take home with you or sign up for their wine club.

DO purchase wine from the winery directly, many variations are not available at local grocery stores and DO ask about case discounts, cases can often be mixed.

DO plan on stopping at a local restaurant or bring a picnic along. Pairing you wine experience with food is enjoyable and enhances the day.

With these quick tips, you will have a fantastic day relishing several of Oregon's many renowned wines. Don't miss the Pinot Noir and Cheers!
